A month after doing this web site (30 jan 07) ... Several people have asking us for help, particularly in regard to (a) finding out about cancer, especially health-creation (alternative) therapies and (b) people and clinics, especially those who have been helpful to us. Here are some suggestions, but we cannot be responsible for any decisions you make, nor for any actions they take. You can write to them on our behalf - Nucha & David. Many more exist, but always be careful of what you find on the web, especially of claims about certain treatments. It is a good idea to ask independent consultants before you try. To avoid:Whole brain radiation of whatever nature, unless it is a really big tumour. Chemotherapy (except low-dose chemo done in an alternative therapy clinic). Hufelend Clinic. In Nov & Dec 2006, Nucha gained some strength here, but it was a long struggle to get the therapies she needed. At the end of the stay we were overcharged. Not long before, the director and chief doctor, Dr Woeple passed away (of cancer that he could not control with his own therapies - but they won't tell you that at the clinic!). As so often happens when the founder and main inspiration disappears, a place like this begins to disintegrate. In April 2007, the clinic appeared to be primarily a money-spinning operation; at one point David was forced to say to them "you seem to be more concerned about the clinic than you are about your patients". More about some appalling and unprofessional conduct on their part by request. We had to 'flee' after two days' stay. |
